IDO Members Engage in INTERACT+ Capacity Building Workshops
On November 20 and 21, 2024, IDO members and contacts participated in the free INTERACT+ Capacity Building workshops conducted online. Led by esteemed lecturers Jörg Benner, Executive Director of DFV e.V., and Mayssa Bsaibes, TT4ALL Coordinator from the ITTF Foundation, the sessions provided an engaging and dynamic exploration of the Sport For All movement.
Participants of the INTERACT+ Capacity Building Trainings identified key starting points for further activities within IDO and its national member organizations. They exchanged practices with like-minded professionals while gathering valuable insights on social change and understanding how International Sport Organizations (ISOs) and National Federations (NFs) can contribute to the Sport For All Movement.
Among the major takeaways from the workshops were strategies for implementing the TAFISA Mission 2030 goals aimed at creating a better world through Sport For All, adopting a sport-for-life approach for truly inclusive organizations, and emphasizing the importance of incorporating Sport For All into statutes and policy documents. Participants also learned how to define roles and responsibilities at the highest levels of organizations and were inspired by the INTERACT+ toolkit featuring best practices within the field and the INTERACT+ model of Sport For All development.
Senior Vice President Fiona Johnson remarked, “Let’s further promote inclusivity within sports organizations worldwide! Every involvement and support is crucial in spreading the word about Sport For All as part of the world of competitive sport.”
The INTERACT+ workshops have not only equipped participants with essential tools and knowledge but have also reinforced the commitment to fostering inclusivity and social change within the sports community.
